Hello,
I hope this finds you very well!
Practitioners sometimes feel that their practice brings them into contrast with the world and makes it impossible to live a normal life within society, connected with family and friends.
I want to explain a little bit about this.
In the initial stages of practice we become more sensitive, and we do perhaps become a little more fragile. This is because the conditioned layers of ‘hardness’ that we build around our hearts in order to emotionally and psychologically get through life begin to fall away.
And so, we become more aware of things and start to feel more. We become aware of things, environments and relationships that are unhealthy. And we are more affected and thrown off centre by these things than we were previously.
This is what happens at the start of the cultivation process. However, the difficulty passes!
And why does it pass? Because we begin to build more qi.
How do we build more qi? At the start of our practice, through correct and authentic methods to activate and fill the lower dantian.
The more qi you build, the stronger your field is, and the less you are influenced by your environment and surroundings.
You are entirely aware of these things — you can listen into and feel when you want to, but you can equally allow yourself to be unaffected.
If your field is weaker than those around you, you will be influenced. If your field is stronger than those around you, you will not be influenced.
So, the body and mind does have to go through a healing process at the start of your process, and this is usually somewhat difficult.
However, the results are a kind of rebirth into a different life — one in which you are stronger, more centred and more awake than before.
The small hermit lives in the mountain, the great hermit lives in the city.
道炁長存,
